If you can crosscheck or elbow someone in the face and the worst thing you get is a 5k fine ( we've seen this several times in the playoffs ), then a crosscheck to the ribs will get you a steak dinner from Parros.

This. Kucherov must have a really weird physiology if he separates his shoulder from being crosschecked in the ribs.

Yeah this isn't getting anything. Hard to say whether it should or not, on the one hand it's a contact sport and cross-checking is part of that but high impact laying the lumber on a guy like that should be called.

Watch the second video on full screen and in slow motion. It looks to me like Kucherov injured his right shoulder during the attempted hit on Barzal. As he skates away he's holding his stick with one hand and kind of moving his right shoulder around in apparent discomfort.

Mayfield's crosscheck was not to Kucherov's shoulder.

Oh, they didn't cheat. Just like delivering a dirty hit that may have injured a star player isn't cheating either. Its all great, in my opinion.

Floating ribs?

A good example of you don't know as much as you think you do.

The last two pairs of ribs at the very bottom of the rib cage do not attach to the sternum at all. Hence the name.
