From what I remember it was all the non Leafs fans on here who said Matthews playoff career is horrible going forward because of what happened against Boston. So the Leafs fans reminded them of his 4 goals and 1 assist in six games against Washington in the 2017 playoffs, to remind everyone he can score in the playoffs.

They referenced his first playoff performance because it showed Matthews is able to compete during the playoffs. So when non Leafs fans bring up how he wasn't good against Boston and would play like that in future playoff series is why we bring up what he did in 2017.
