They shouldn't hand out league awards when they're playing exclusively against certain teams
This is the best Leaf hype post ever. Matthews isn't even near of good a goal scorer as Ovi is. Laine has had more goals than Matthews and I'm not even calling Laine Ovechkin and he's not on the Jets anymore.

But right now compared to any NHLer right now I say Draisaitl is the closest thing to Ovechkin right now.
?
It looks like Matthews has 174 and Laine has 144 in more games.
In a season...
On 20 more games. If Matthews maintained his pace that year he ends up with 45 in 82, to Laines 44 in 82.In a season...

how many years did it take him to prove it

Matthews is too good for this leagueAnother game, another dominant performance from Matthews with the goals and points to match. It's hilarious to watch his haters trying to cope in this thread.
I guess he's talking about 17-18 when Laine had more than Matthews... But failed to mention the part where Matthews had 20 less games played due to injury. Just another cope job in this thread. What on earth are you talking about? Laine's never had a 47 goal season like Matthews last year in a *shortened season*.
Wut?In a season...
They also miss that getting open in close that often is a skill few have. One of Matthews biggest "problems" is that he always shoots so close to the net so I think way too many folks don't get a good grasp of how good his shot is.

That year Mattheww was lower than his career GPG, which would have him at 46 in 82.
Yeah, they've played more games, so no coincidence for sure. Having 4+ top 10 offensive talents in the league don't hurt either.
It's not a coincidence, but it's not for the reason you think. The Canadian division has played the most games.
lol imagine Ovi taking turns with Ottawa, Edmonton and Vancouver's defense and goaltending over and over
