In fairness Tkachuk had a reputation as a defensive forwards for a couple of years with the 3M line too. His definitely has a positive impact on metrics.

Unfortunately metrics aren't enough, when you're checking an elite line like Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen, you need to be able to skate with them, which we've come to realize as fans. In this sense, Coleman-Backlund-Mangiapane is probably better suited to that role than the 3M line.
