If it’s going to be Aho, I hope Williams sticks around for a couple more years. Aho doesn’t need the Eric Staal treatment this early in his career.
I am guessing the long term plan is for Aho to be the long term C. They game Slavin the vacant A so that Aho could continue to focus on playing 1c. Gun to my head next year they run Williams as the C (on a 1 or 2 year deal) and Slavin and Aho as the A's.Who knows with that, it could be to help move Aho into a leadership role, or it could be to help him get more confident speaking up to the team?
Kids IQ if off the charts for the ice. Can that translate to the rest of the team? He’s consistent, and really has shown his ability to center this season.
You never know, but I remember an interview Rod gave where he talked about how they put his stall next to Francis' stall when Francis was captain so he could learn.Who knows with that, it could be to help move Aho into a leadership role, or it could be to help him get more confident speaking up to the team?
Didn’t they offer Staal the C a couple of years ago and he said no? I can’t remember.

I'd venture to say there's 0 chance.I think there's decent chance next year both Martinook/de Haan wear "A".
Just realized that if we were casting for a Shakespeare repertoire theatre using our roster, Slavin could be cast as almost anyone outside of maybe Iago, Falstaff, Shylock, and Caliban. There's only one roll Aho could be cast for: Aho can only play Puck.
This contributes nothing to the discussion.
Are we woke or are we very confused?none of our dudes could be othello
Slavin strikes me more as a natural leader of men than Aho.
I think that’s just a symptom of him being Finnish more than anything elseAgreed. Based solely on their interview skills, I get the feeling Aho’s not one looking to be the center of attention.
I mean, did you see him at the All-Star game? Any time the camera was on him, it looked like he was in physical pain.

Why not both?I lean towards Slavin but we seem to really want Aho to be the focal point. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.
You made me snort while drinking my homemade smoothie. Cleanup was required. Well done. Why not both?
It worked so well with Faulk and staal.
