This one surprises me, there's 1 or 2 forwards I would have moved before Maroon personally (especially given his playoffs last season).

But I guess there isn't room for him once Horcoff is back given the McGinn+Pirri moves.

this is a really poor move by Murray.

You don't trade players like Maroon away at the deadline. Could have easily waited until the off-season.

I don't particularly like it. Could have waited until the offseason. Would rather Maroon on the 4th line than Santorelli.

Let's not be naive. The Maroon deal is ultimately a cap-saving move.

Maroon's contract probably came into play too, while he was good that extra 2m could go towards re-signing certain other players that are of more importance and Garbutt takes up that 4th line LW role at a cheaper rate. But I agree with Paul, rather have done it in the off-season as he's a better fit then Santorelli.
