Markham, Ontario planning to build a 19,000 seat arena

never going to happen these threads are useless NHL will never go to Markham

If this so called arena gets built they won't get an NHL. team they will get ethier the AHL. Marlies or be Hamilton's AHL. affiliate at best or get ethier an ECHL. team or another OHL. team . The thing is Hamilton is going to get an NHL. team because it is a centeralized market & can be easly accessed by all the unserved markets in southern ontario not mention being the best place to invest in ontario why do think Katz Group & AEG. want in the Hamilton market because they can get more bang for there buck if they help bring an NHL. team to Hamilton same can not be said for Markham (GTA.) like the confrence board of canada said a 2nd team in the GTA. is not viable & would be extremly difficult & expensive to do .

Actually I am astounded by how accurate some of the stuff we read here is. Sometimes it's weeks before mainstream print picks it up. There obviously are some people here who have inside info. and post away.

He said in the same interview a second team in Southern Ontario was possible. I still don't think Three's a crowd. The only problem for the Leafs is that they will have to find a way to win a title sometime in the next generation.

At this point if Markham is able to build an arena I'd put them as the front runner in Southern Ontario.

Even if they build the arena they still have no prospective owner not to mention MLSE. will block any atempt at anybody trying bring an NHL. team to Markham . I belive that MLSE. will support an NHL. team in Hamilton just to keep Markham away from playing in there yard .
