It's just bad because they have no prospects. The ownership changes nothing since they always do what the Hawks want. They're just a bottom 10 prospect pool so of course their AHL club has low talent.

They have 1 top prospect on the club, and he's a out ppg. They just need talent in the prospect pool

This analysis of who they didn't pick while they could have is nice around the poker table, but hindsight is always 20/20. The important questions are:

1. what % of your team is home grown and are you a playoff contender with them
2. what % of your draft plays in the NHL (anywhere)
3. if drafting in the Top 10, do you find impact players

That's what I look at.

Apparently, Rockford has already been fixed. During a between periods interview with Eddie O shortly after being named the permanent GM, Davidson referred to Rockford's player development and coaching staff in very glowing terms.

I would have to analyze it, but Kelley is probably average at best and the professional scout is maybe a touch below. I mean, look at a guy like Hartman....he's turned out to be a pretty good player.....guys like Holl made it to the bigs....but there's awful lot of misses too.

quite good with forwards in early rounds, awful with defensemen, a lot of issues are probably the fault of stan for not being patient with some of his picks and giving them more time in rockford and then just trading some of them for various reasons...if they had a pro scouting department worth a damn during his tenure then they could've been more patient with their picks because there wouldn't be a constant void for them to fill in the nhl, they could've tapped the ufa and trade markets more often to build the depth around the core so that the kids could go spend time in minors...who is the last ufa they signed that was good value, brad richards? kind of a joke, same deal for depth trades, desi and panik arguably the last ones to make a decent impact given price tag of trades

Yeah, we really don't know the Stan effect on what was picked and traded for.....you saw that he was impressed by Jurco, Nylander and Bergstrom.....seemed to be mesmerized by some razzle dazzle---we'll never know what he might have over-ruled from Kelley and Stewart.
