Last season there were a lot of strikes against the guy. Poor in the dot. Doesn't produce unless paired with Hall/Eberle. Another small center. Redundancy with Gagner.

Gagner's gone. The team as a whole is bigger, and RNH while still on the small side is starting to show the ability to succeed even when matched up against the oppositions top line. Arco is better in the dot, maybe even showing signs of being good (wonder if this is Gordon's doing, last time the team improved it was guidance from Oates). Over the last few games he's started to produce and build chemistry without being paired with the top line guys.

Arcobello was 51% on the dot last year, not shabby.

Honestly I have less of a problem with Arco being on this team than I do LD at this point. LD I would be okay being a 3rd line wing who subs in as C for some draws and learns, but not splitting the 2c/3c spots with Arco. Arco is the kinda guy who we'd let go and watch him thrive somewhere else.

RNH
Legit 2c
Arco
Gordon

IMO would actually be fantastic depth down the middle for this team. But that hole in the 2c spot is still hurting us.

(not as much as our holes of 1D and 2D)

I've taken to singing "Arcobello Arcobello" in my head. Sung to the tune of Rock me Amadeus and/or Dr. Zaius.

Question I've always had with Arco is how long can he maintain this level of play as a smaller player in the NHL. Its my take that he's hit walls before and that the pace, intensity, physicality at this level starts to grind him. Also we've hardly played WC games.

That I agree with. I want to see his game continues to grow against them

Not sure how anyone can say he's hit walls at this level before when he's never really been given a consistent opportunity before. When SS came back (to early) from his injury last year Arco was relegated to 4th line/PK minutes or sent to the AHL when he was one of the clubs leading scorers as that point.

Kind of a funny article on Arcobello. Looks like in spite of his ineptitude at the game of hockey he has managed to tie an NHL record.

"When the 26-year-old Arcobello makes his debut with the Arizona Coyotes -- likely Friday night against the San Jose Sharks -- after having been claimed on waivers earlier in the week, it will be the fourth different NHL team he has suited up for this season. According to the database at hockeydb.com, that will tie an NHL record and make him one of just three players in the history of the league (as far as we can find) to play for four different teams in one season."

Not only that. Apparently 8% of the league has had the uh, "pleasure" of lining up with Arcobello on their line.

"There have been 900 different players (forwards, defensemen and goalies) who have played at least one game in the NHL this season. Arcobello has already taken at least one shift on the ice with 73 of them. That is more than 8 percent of the league."

Amazing how this guy keeps getting chances. And with Hanzal down, Arcobello might actually stick with the Coyotes for awhile. Desperate as they are.

"He has appeared in 50 games this season with three different teams and only experienced a win 14 times (seven in Edmonton, three in Nashville, four in Pittsburgh). That is a worse winning percentage (.280) than if he had spent the entire season to this point with the Buffalo Sabres (.290). Maybe he too is tanking for Connor McDavid."

Obviously no winner :sarcasm:

Let's play Six Degrees of Mark Arcobello, haha. Including other trades/waivers, I bet you can link Arcobello to any other active NHLer in four moves this season alone.

And he scored last night.
And he's reunited with Sam Gagner, which he is >>> to, all day, every day. Maybe not in hockey, but maybe in the looks department.
