There's been some posts that provided stats on Galchenyuk's performance statistically as center previously. Obviously no data from this year, but I think we got a decent enough sample size that shows in terms of production, he can be an offensive force.
Hurt the team? Hard to say, but last year, when he started as center, we had a blistering start to the season before he got hurt. In 2015-2016, we can probably blame him for ruining our tank because he was scoring so many goals
We won last night, so it's unlikely he'll move back to center and since so many people are on the hot seat, no chance CJ is going to experiment now or be patient with Alex. The only thing I would pin on MB regarding Alex (other than all the public nonsense about positioning and liabilities) is regardless of fault, losing Radulov hurt Alex. Not sure about mentorship, but Radulov was a great complimentary player. Alex has to be responsible away from the puck, I agree. I also think he needs to put in that effort 100% like all the stars do.
All this aside, I'm hoping the off the ice stuff isn't true, but if so, I hope the best and Tremblay needs to **** on personal issues of other people.
However, regardless of deficiencies in his game, I don't think there is any question he is incredibly talented and still only 23. I was an idiot when I was 23, wasted a lot of years in school but now carved out a decent life. I think with continued mentorship and coaching, as well as being given opportunities to succeed (playing with Mitchell and Hemsky or Danault and Shaw just didn't work) will pay off for us. End of the day,
Alex is an ASSET and we need to not waste it as well.
