Make a trade with your favorite team with this team that MAKES SENSE FOR BOTH SIDES. It can be 1 for 1, taking on a bad contract, flipping 7th rounders, whatever you deem is necessary to not only make your team better but the other one too. If it's a rebuilding/retooling side they obviously want something for the future.

You want Detroit to give up a player they don't need to give up for a player they don't need at all, and you want them to retain?

Brown is younger and much more productive, given a larger role he can go back to 15~ goals, 35~ points. Plus he PKs, not gonna go threw your roster to see if he fills any holes. We are overloaded with RWs and a trusty need 4th centre. Babcock loves him too.

Detroit is also overloaded on the wing, so doesn't really make sense.

Zetterberg and/or Franzen to Ottawa.

Have no idea how that would shake out as far as eextras, but it seems like it could be beneficial for both sides.

Why?

Ottawa will make the cap floor, and Detroit likely doesn't go $10M over the ceiling to need to relieve either one of those contracts.

The only incentive for Detroit is if Stevie Y is planning to do something semi-big in the off-season (this year or next) and needs the added flexibility.

The incentive for the Senators is to give them wiggle room in-season to move on from the UFA's (Anderson and Boedkker mainly).

Doesn't really make sense for Detroit to tack on assets of value (or even any assets in all honesty) but because of the unique situation the Senators find themselves in, they may be willing to take on one of these deals for "free".

not even close lol

Well aside from someone else posting your loaded at wing. Value wise, Brown is close if not better. The notion that a guy who's career high is 23 points compared to Brown, whos career low is 28, to be not even close is laughable.

I'm not sure who Detroit makes a good trade partner with. We don't have cap space to take much in the way of contract dumps (though we're not in trouble and don't need to send anything out, either). The only pieces we really have that anyone would want aren't the kind of pieces we ought to be moving. We don't have any vets who are going to get more today than they will at the TDL.

It's hard to imagine the kind of offer someone would put down that would really do anything for the team.
