He's not a "very good" skater, he has pretty good mobility. If you watch Diaz correctly you'd see that he makes very small strides and he isn't that fast of a skater, end of discussion.

He has good mobility for a d-man. He isn't in the class of Karlsson Subban or Beaulieu but few d-men are. It's not just about skating in a straight line it's also lateral agility and change of direction. He is smart and reads the play well which makes him look faster.

I agree, although calling him a very good skater like the earlier poster is a bit of a stretch.

Well, Condon is not a D, but a UFA goalie we signed in the last weeks. Pretty good potential, from what I saw and heard...

Oh him!. I was trying to remember a D prospect named Condon. BTW I love that Nygren video, his 1-timer is just about as good as Subban's. Him winning the best D award pretty much guarantees this his defensive game is polished aswell. Looks like yet another steal by Timmins.

It's one of those examples where looking at the birth date when drafting can lead you astray. He was, what, 19 years old when we drafted him, almost 20? Why bother, you might say, but if you saw him start to come on, and fill out his frame, at 19, you might get to a point in the draft where it makes sense to lay your claim before someone else does... if you're sufficiently impressed and project further improvement, of course. Not to throw out any hints, but there's a goalie or two still on the board who might prove to be similar cases. No one is poo-pooing (lol, my spell check accepts that as a proper term) on the Bell or Arvidsson picks, either.

How about 76 for 25?

Which goalie(s) are you referring to?

To me, I'd hope for him to be an Anton Stralman with a better shot.

He's a guy that can be physical, block shots alright defensively. He can also skate and move the puck well.

Not a top pairing player, but not a useless one. Being 6'1 will help him defend better against the bigger bodies.

Seems to me like a Diaz clone, except 1 inch taller and was 2 years younger when he started playing well overseas.

Never seen the guy really play but his numbers this year look like Diaz' numbers from 3 years ago.

HF Boards in a nut shell lol

Anyways, hope he comes over. You can never have enough options on D

Nice vid as usual. Did you share it around? I'm sure Mathias Brunet and Dave Stubbs would post it on their blog.

About Nygren, he seems to show a willigness to take the body and it looks like he has a decent wrister and vision in the offensive zone in addition to that booming slapshot. Looking forward to see him at camp.

Posted it on HF. All the sharing I do for my videos.

I like the player but do we need another PMS Dman or a PP specialist?
Also, I dought his defensive game is NHL caliber. Also, with that big ice surface, lots of time and space for him to get that shot off.

Francophone Habs fan will have a field day with guys named Condon and Nygren (pronounced Nu-gren). Hope they play together, against Grant Clitsome.

That is all.
