EP will be better next season and never look back. If you cannot see that you should stop watching hockey. The NHL does not need fans like you.

"Pettersson is highly overrated". Clueless Eastern team fans responses at its finest.
Why do you say eastern teams? This is and has always been a false narrative.

I bet more fans in the east watch western games than vice versa.

When the west games start, it’s like 9-10 o’clock out east and that’s prime hickey watching hours, not bedtime for most. And judging from the glow of apartment building living room lights I can see from my own living room, a majority of the people are awake for a lot longer too. M

Now contrast that with the fact that when eastern games are starting for those out west, it’s like 4:00pm. People still getting back from work, picking up kids from school, doing laundry, mowing lawn, making dinner, going grocery shopping and more. At the hour the eastern games are done, that’s when most people out west finally settle down to watch tv or sports or whatever.

Most of the downplay of EP has always began with users that are fans of eastern teams around the league

I've been noticing this a lot lately.

Western team fans on the other hand especially Flames/Oilers fans recognize EP's talent.

I do agree that the only way someone can downplay Pettersson at this point is for lack of watching him play abd or delusion/anger but plenty of fans out east watch western games.

The media guys less so because they start their write ups and such after the first game they’ve watched.

I slightly disagree, hes put on one hell of a show. Lots of potential, I'd say it's possible for him to be top 3 in the league one day

How do you think he is overrated? In the way of where do you see people rating him now vs where he should be?

BArzal was playing better at his first year, but that's just me

Ummm not even sure how to respond to this post but your logic is that of a 4 year old. I want you to re read your post, and go sit in the corner and stare at a wall for an hour, it may help you in the the long run.
You just based the lights in your surrounding apartments must mean people stay up passed midnight on a weeknight to watch hockey. Thanks for my daily laugh

Your right. It makes no sense at all. Everyone in the east is in bed by 9:30pm eastern time and everyone out west is watching hockey at 4:00pm western time.

There’s no such thing as western time :laugh:.
But your apartment lights don’t lie, you must be right. Claiming to stay up to watch the games in “western time”.... you’ve lost all credibility

I’m sure you know what I mean by western time. But the point still stands. However, as you pointed out, it’s from the logic of a four year old. I should use more emojis to make a point next time.

You literally think that more fans in the east watch “western time zone games” than western people watching eastern games... that in itself is an embarrassing take. Couple that with your apartment logic, grocery shopping logic, and calling it “western time zone”, I’m actually embarrassed for you.

When are you more likely to watch hockey, at 4:00-5:00pm or at 10:00-11:00 pm?

Are you asking me, or the majority or hockey fans, you know the actual topic at hand. I think the only way for you to understand would be with me drawing diagrams with crayons or an etch and sketch. Look out your apartment, and you tell me what you see!!!!!

The majority of people anywhere who have jobs and other responsibilities. When would someone be more likely to watch hockey, 4:00-5:00pm or 10:00-11:00pm?

I was going to edit to add a bunch of exclamation points or emojis, even an insult or two, but I’m not there yet. I only have 4 yr old logic.

90 point pacerookies are apparently not allowed to be hyped on HFBoards.

Mackinnon is better BTW. It’s hilarious that western Canadian teams fans who are suppose to hate the Canucks think Pettersson is amazing yet fans of eastern teams think he’s overrated.
Well he plays past these little kids bed time

Mack not close.

Let's see what happens when EP isn't getting spoon fed easy minutes, and what happens when teams are able to start strategizing ways to defend him.

I agree that the answer is MacKinnon for the present (future could go either way, but if I had to bet, I'd say MacK is the safer pick because he's got a longer track record).

But you need to show your work on the bolded above or edit your post. He's the primary offensive threat on the Canucks (and sometimes the only one), and the target of top defenders on every team the Canucks play against.

Regardless of how much his original post didn't make much sense, you're replies are honestly even worse. Way to make yourself look like an actual child.

Why are you so rude to the guy? Not sure how you can say his logic is "of a 4 year old", when a 4 year old most likely has a better understanding of grammar than you...

Try using points with some context, league scoring is so inflated this year, 90 points is not the same as it was in other years.

Pettersson currently: 26th in points/gp

Other rookie seasons:
-McDavid = 3rd in points/gp
-Ovechkin = 5th in points/gp
-Crosby = 6th in points/gp
-Malkin = 19th in points/gp
-Barzal = 20th in points/gp
-Laine = 21st in points/gp
-Matthews = 29th in points/gp
-Ryan = 36th in points/gp
-Nugent-Hopkins = 36th in points/gp
-Gaudreau = 37th in points/gp
-Stone = 38th in points/gp

Relative to his peers, Petterssons rookie season is closer to Stone/Gaudreau/Nuge/Bobby Ryan/Matthews/Laine than it is to McDavid/Crosby/Ovi. Impressive, but nothing earth shattering like some Nucks fans are acting like.

McKinnon AINEC.

Pettersson is an average soft player at best. 46 games in the NHL. He is not even a top 30 player in the nhl. Most overrated player I have seen in over a decade. Foolish.

What’s worse? Being “rude” to someone on an online message board who is clearly wrong or being the grammar police? I literally don’t care that I don’t have good grammar or if I hurt your feelings. I’m sure he appreciates you sticking up for him though.

Well I did a quick post history check afterward. It’s not just in this thread or against one person. There is clearly an anger issue there, and most people don’t have to be told that obviously that sort of anger doesn’t stem from opinions of strangers on a message board. Who knows why people are they way they are.

I still think my main point that more people watch hockey at 10:00-11:00pm than they do at 4:00-5:00pm is still valid anyway.
