Eriksson doesn't need to be protected w/ Seattle draft, therefore negates the problematic of trading him in order to protect different players.

Lucic needs to be protected

He was actually saying "we will take him for" and listed 2 2nds and a 3rd and wanted us to retain 2m. Which is completely reasonable.

Exactly, this makes no f***ing sense whatsoever.

And what are you gonna go with that 6m in cap space you open up when you do this? Panarin/Duchene are gonna cost too much and the other UFA's are gonna get overpaid and UFA contracts in general are recipes for distaster. And don't say "trade for someone" because you just traded away the only meaningful asset that we could afford to give away.

How OP thought this makes sense is beyond me.

TBH, I don't think Bear is needed if we're retaining 2 million. I think 2 2nds and a 3rd is good enough.
