agree. it used to be impossible to get playoffs tickets for Sharks ... not anymore. reverse sweep did us in
It was dwindling before then IMO. There's been two peaks IMO, when the Sharks made the Playoffs for the first time and then there's this masterpiece, it was a treat to be in the building for this PK, hopefully these days can come back.

Carolina. With them being back in after a 10 season absence and playing an old southeast division rival who just won the cup. It'll be loud as hell. Not to mention back in 06 and 09 it was probably the loudest arena in the playoffs

No "probably" necessary, Carolina set the decibel record in 2006.

The building has a great balance of size and acoustics. It's been forgotten over the past decade, but if the Canes get on a roll we'll start seeing the media stories again about how it's maybe the loudest building in indoor sports, period.

Went to leafs Boston last year. Nothing beats the ACC with a couple of beers and friends. Place is electric

I do agree that the ACC is actualy really loud come playoff time. The problem is that Sportsnet would rather show whats going on in Maple Leaf Square instead of whats going on in the ACC where the actual players are playing. I find that so annoying. They do it in Winnipeg and Calgary too from what I remember. Just show whats going on in the building PLEASE!

I like a mix of both. I find it interesting to see so many fans gathered outside the arena. Winnipeg’s was cool last year. I had friends over that don’t really watch hockey and I was watching one of the WPG games, and the jets had scored and they panned all around the street and it was just filled. My friends were very impressed by the sight (they’re basketball fans mainly).

Sidenote, Blues fans can get decently loud sometimes.

I expect the atmosphere in Carolina to be unreal. They could very likely only get two games there, but it’ll be a wild two games nonetheless. Seems Columbus usually has a stellar building in the playoffs as well. I bet they’ll show out.

Aside from those two, I’ll go with the common ‘Nashville and Winnipeg’ answer. Those two are consistently the loudest and most energetic year in and year out.

Nashville's fans are pretty bat**** crazy when their team is winning.

Saw a Leaf game in Nashville last month. It was a Tuesday night but the place was wild. Great atmosphere there, would say they will be up there for loud buildings come playoff time.

Can anyone educate me on the Nassau Coliseum thing I keep hearing I thought the Isles played at Barclays

Isles are playing first round at Coliseum. Any other round after, they are playing at barclays. Coliseum, even after a $300 million renovation, is still a crap hole where there is no room to walk, piss lines are 30 minutes long and everything is overpriced. But bc of its size, ur on top of the ice and the noise level can match any place in hockey which is the only thing I care about at the end of the day.

Our stadium seems to be quite in the first round and then just flips a switch come the later rounds.

But my votes are Carolina,Wash,Isles

Anytime I catch a Toronto game you can almost hear a pen drop in that place.

I love some friendly competition! I challenge Carolina to step up their game. Ive been impressed seeing the tailgate pictures and videos, wish there was parking space in Nashville for tailgates. I know that the South can be super rowdy when it comes down to college football but its been nice translating it into hockey!

Winnipeg fans get f***ing loud for the regular season and it always gets amplified in the playoffs. I really like their crowd when they aren't playing the Leafs :)
