That game was in desperate need of some Hudler.

I don't blame the refs... but they sure had a crappy game. That delay of game was the only blown call. 5-on-3 would have been GREAT! I was sitting 3rd row in the 2nd balcony right on the blue line and to me it looked in, though it was on it's side so I can see how it could look out. I really doubt it would have resulted in a goal, but the timing of it and the fact that the shot after the whistle DID go in just made the refs look completely against us.

Yeah I don't blame the refs at all. It wasn't them that lost the game, it's the Flames that lost the game. It was frustrating to watch all night long that none of the passes were connecting. I think MayRay had at least two or three blind passes to.... nobody. At least with the Islanders game we lost because they were the better team, but the Flames weren't even in this one for most of the evening.

And I had to laugh when Ramo went down. I was at the game and they were showing Ortio highlights while Hiller was getting ready and I was legitimately confused as to who was really coming in for relief haha

Not a stupid play because he prevented a breakaway. Just unfortunate lack of awareness by Diaz.

Yeah, but I would recall Thiessen for a week or so during the AHL all-star weekend so Orts can participate in the game. I think it would be a nice gesture. Of course give him the choice

I like this idea, mainly because I really want to see Joni in the ASG, but I also really want to see Thiessen.

I agree, I know everyone would be different but for me personally I would rather play in the NHL and the money thing wouldn't hurt either.

Agreed. Nobody grows up dreaming of one day playing in the AHL. If you get the chance to get called up to the big show, you take it.

Being able to say you made the All-Star game, even in the AHL, is good for the old CV but doubtless Ortio would rather play in the NHL and prove he belongs. Just depends on whether they let him start a game or not.
