Spezza is really smart with the puck. You could see that he is looking to make an outlet pass the moment he gets the puck bc he knows his wingers got break out speed.

I really don't see the skating weakness in Spezza's game that other people seem to. He's been really good all season. >=0.5 ppg despite only playing 10 minutes a game, and getting virtually no PP time, is really impressive production. The flow of play has been in the favour of the Leafs all season when he's on the ice. And the shots for/against heatmaps very clearly vindicate his performance defensively.

It's actually pretty astounding to me that anyone could be critical of him this year. Really great depth add.

I’m glad he is turning out to be a solid addition to the roster. Veteran Leadership and his slapshot have been difference makers. All he needed was a chance and Keefe was wise enough to give it to him
