These scenarios are likely but I'm having a hard time accepting them:

- The Devils will make the playoffs
- Edmonton will miss the playoffs
- The Art Ross winner will be a first time winner
- Boston is good and will do well in the playoffs
- Vegas will make the playoffs in their first season

What are yours?

AV not getting fired and making a huge mistake in not trading McDonagh and extending him 8 x7. Yuck.

Oilers go on a 10+ game winning streak back to the top of the standings and the main boards become more unbearable as Leafs fans still try to convince us Matthews= McDavid and the Draisaitl contract was a huge mistake and all the other usual battle cries.

Still expect Vegas to start losing at some point, but they keep proving me wrong so far

Thought they would
Thought they would
Thought Marchand would win the Art Ross
Knew they would
Somewhat surprised but shows you don't have to 'but the draft pick, the draft pick' to the playoffs.

mostly surprised Calgary isn't better.
Thought Anaheim would be better - but injuries have crippled them.
Surprised the Leafs are in a playoff position.
Philly sucking (they were my dark horse pick)
Thought Duchene just needed a change of scenery.

Anything Vegas related. I stated this before, but I think their sophomore season is going to be a swift kick in the pills.

Regardless, this start has been great for their fans.

Yeah. A lot of Vegas key guys are in contract years too so they're a.) playing for their money and thus over producing b.) they'll probably lose at least one of Neal, Person, Marchessault which would be a big hit.

The Devils making the playoffs isn't difficult to accept, but seeing Taylor Hall in the playoffs would be shocking.

I'm not convinced that Edmonton will miss the playoffs. And, even if they do...

I think McDavid is going to win the scoring title.

Vegas has to be the biggest surprise. That is crazy surprising.

Goalies are looking, to me, far less dominant now than in the roughly 2000 to 2015 period, and I think it's because players have adapted now and almost always shoot to the top corners, which goalies coming of age since the late-90s were not trained to stop.

That the hawks arent reslly contenders anymore. Atleast until debrincat, forsling and schmaltz have another year or two to develop. But im not sure if keiths motor will still be running strong in a couple years

The Vegas Golden Knights. Who the f*** do they think they are?

Also how there's no great hockey teams left. Just a bunch of pretty good ones.

Vegas having their Leicester City run. I don't believe that even the players and management saw that coming. Devils are another team that are doing far better than what I would've though they should.

Edmonton is going to make the playoffs, and their recent win over the Sharks will be considered the turning point of their season.

The fact that Arizona is looking worse this year than last year really boggles me for some reason.

Also don't understand how Detroit is currently ahead of both Florida and Ottawa (not by much, but still) in the standings, on paper id say they look much better than Detroit.

Not only is Boston good, although I think they need some more experience for some of their players, they are winning with speed and offense. They are one of the more exciting teams to watch.

Vegas doing as well as they are really us hard for me to wrap my head around, I keep expecting them to go on a 12 game losing streak.
