Panarin absolutely crushes us every time we play him. Dude's so f***ing good, and the Rangers are a completely different team with him in the lineup.

I wonder if we ever had a shot at landing him out of the KHL back in the day.

Pens have played really well despite the injuries to top 6 players. But you can only get so much blood out of a rock. Malkin skating is good news and hopefully Kap is soon to follow. TB has been skatinf with the team in practice so I don't know why he is not cleared unless he does play tonight. Tanev re-injures what ever he had before and is being held out to get him healthy. Seems more nagging that serious. Rangers can play if they are free to skate and not be in a physical take no prisoners game. Pens have to come out and check them big time.

There is nothing “comfortable” about where the Pens are in the standing right now. Guys either need to get back in the lineup and playing at a high level again, or they need to at least beat the teams below them with the depleted roster.

Rangers are not a bottom feeder team, the Devils are the Devils, and there are still plenty of games left against the Bruins, Caps and Flyers.

No more excuses.

We have 5 games against the Devils and 4 against the Sabres down the stretch. If we lose a playoff spot with that schedule, we never deserved to be in the playoffs to begin with.

I'd be absolutely floored if we missed. Shocked, stunned, whatever you wanna call it. We're not going to miss the playoffs--but if we do, they better blow this shit up, because the only way it happens is if this coaching staff is inept and the roster is rotten. That's completely inexcusable given our final half of the schedule. Injuries or not, we have the talent and depth to be a playoff team. Whether or not we go anywhere is up in the air, but there's zero excuse to miss, even with the injury issues we've had.

The real issue is going to be the stretch from April 25th to May 4th. Six games, 2 against each of the Flyers, Caps and Bruins. We'd better be stockpiling points up to that bunch of games because it could get ugly.
