Saw the above spoof and then it got me thinking ... what's behind that "Idiocracy Medal"?

Looked into it further and found this:

Idiocracy is a 2006 American science fiction comedy film directed by Mike Judge and starring Luke Wilson, Maya Rudolph, and Dax Shepard. The film tells the story of two people who take part in a top-secret military human hibernation experiment, only to awaken 500 years later in a dystopian society where anti-intellectualism and commercialism have run rampant, and which is devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights.

The film was not screened for critics, and distributor 20th Century Fox was accused of abandoning the film. Despite its lack of a major theatrical release, which resulted in a mere $495,303 box office, the film received generally positive reviews from critics and has become a cult film.

Idiocracy is a cult film? Has anyone seen it?

You should watch it. It's funny.. but we could also end up like that as we get more dependent on technologies and we forget how to think properly

Yes a gazilion times, def culty.
Was hard to market, and fox tried to bury it (would of never existed if Mike Judge wasnt making fox mad bank with King of the Hill).

Is def well written, packed with jokes, though not everyones cup of tea when it comes to the humor. Ugly looking movie too (done on purpose), which turns off most viewers.

Holy crap brother, you haven't seen Idiocracy???

It is indeed a cult classic. Not only that, it's probably the most prophetic comedy in history,

That dude that looks like Terry Crews, that's actually President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho, porn superstar and five-time Ultimate Smackdown wrestling champion!

Electrolytes are good for you, you know

Pvt. Joe Bowers: What *are* these electrolytes? Do you even know?
Secretary of State: They're... what they use to make Brawndo!
Pvt. Joe Bowers: But *why* do they use them to make Brawndo?
Secretary of Defense: [raises hand after a pause] Because Brawndo's got electrolytes.

Rita: You think Einstein walked around thinkin' everyone was a bunch of dumb shits?
Pvt. Joe Bauers: Yeah... Hadn't thought of that.
Rita: Now you know why he built that bomb.

Finishing up season 1 of Ozark. Really is a great show. Whoever recommended this thank you very much. I can't stop, I'm disappointed I am out of episodes. Been awhile since I felt that way about a show.
Funny you haven't watched Better Call Saul yet. It's pretty much Breaking Bad, but without Walt & Jesse, replaced by other interesting characters, especially Chuck, Howard & Kim.

My god, just re-watching all the mission impossibles before I go watch the new one.

Fnished Ghost Protocol last night **** I love these movies.

In the car with the American Embassy Leader (ethans boss)

" Ethan, I'm taking you to Washington where you will be branded a terrorist and Rogue extremist, and the Kremlin bombing will be hung on you... Unless you were to assault Mr. Brandt and I and escape, this conversation having never taken place, your motives would be un-clear."

Ok you convinced me, re-watching all the mission impossibles too!

Boy the first one feels quit dated by today's standards compared to the second one which looks quite modern in comparison. Amazing what a couple of years difference can make.

I was never a huge fan of Thandie Newton before but boy she looks absolutely delectable and sublime in this one. That's one of the advantages of re-visiting some of these old classics. We get to watch them in HD Blurays with 5.1 surround sound and enjoy John Woo's style in all it's glory! Quite the difference from my family's old giant 27" living room TV and VHS cassette tape lol.

Surprisingly the first 3 films didn't rate very well. Can't wait to get to the later releases.

I'm in the middle of s6 of Homeland and I can't believe people have not figured Dar is the bad guy. For 6 freaking seasons I've been saying don't trust Dar, he's going to screw you over. He ran CIA black operations using the most highly trained soldiers yet people trust the guy.

Season 6 is just Dar proving he's the most dangerous man in the world.

Just looking at him you just don’t trust that guy. Abraham plays the character great. Just the right amount of sleaze.

I enjoyed MI3 also. I’ve mentioned the bridge breakout is one of my favorite scenes of all the movies. The music building tension and the pace were great.

This is probably old news but Daniel Craig will be reprising his role as James Bond for the 5th time and 25th film in the iconic franchise. This after having reportedly said that he would rather slash his own wrists than play Bond again.

The actor will be earning an eye-watering £50million quid for his role in the next James Bond film. Daniel is worth every penny given that Spectre made over £700million and Skyfall over £900million before they sold DVD, streaming and TV rights.

The movie was scheduled to be released in October of 2019 but with director Danny Boyle calling it quits over "creative differences" just two days ago, I can only imagine that will have an impact on the production of the film. One year is really not a lot of time to make a film of this magnitude.

Shame about Boyle as I was looking forward to his take on the franchise. I know Nolan had been mentioned but guys like Boyle and Nolan want creative control but the current writers and producers can’t let it go. Too bad as I do think Bond/Craig needs a good send off creatively and Boyle would had been great.

If they stick with the standard Bond formula, I wouldn’t mind the return of the Royale director (who also did Goldeneye).

Bond vs Dr. No, right?

Would be pretty cool, but plot leaks indicate he may get married... who knows?

On a side note, but spy related, there is a spin-off TV series called Treadstone which is the fictional black OPs division of the CIA that was responsible for Bourne and the “assets”.

I mean this would be perfect for the 25th James Bond with one of the most iconic villains make another appearence after the Spectre movie. They also have been doing some continuity since Royale.

I don't know about a marriage though. Everytime they do one in Bond movies (whether it's Bond or not), it never ends well

Great, they finally convinced him. I just hope he'll act more interested in his role than Moore did in his last role.

A shame Boyle called it quits. Would've been interersting to see his take on Bond.

it's gonna be hard to top Waltz in Spectre. I just love Waltz so much as a villain.

I'd be hard pressed to call it the same as Breaking Bad. Better Call Saul is much slower paced, to the point where I feel like nothing has actually happened throughout an entire season.

Admittedly there's less action and the actions are more subtle, but it's the same world, most of the same characters, and the same overall tone and style.

It follows Saul, so sure it concentrates more on law and justice. It's the story of a con man, not of a burning wick inching closer to a dynamite stick like Walt was.
