Oh yeah...that's right. So who is this Steve Graves character...can't say I've heard of him.

Steve Graves! He played 35 games for the Oilers, making him one of the Oilers' most successful draft picks of the 1980s. The's the first Oilers #15 that I can recall, although others like Kent Nilsson, Geoff Courtnall, and Marty "Thermoblades" Reasoner wore it briefly as well.

#29 as he's said a few times now that he loved the player who used to wear it back in Germany. So I assume if he gets a choice and no one has it, he'll get it.

Can't wait to buy his jersey once they release his number, last time I bought a player's jersey before he played an NHL game was Hall, hopefully it pans out just as well.

Not the 90s or early 2000s anymore where it was the **** to pick a high number. That classic haircut and a *****in >30 number.

29 is pretty slick, nobody uses with authority it since Felix Potvin.

Double digits are supposed to be lucky, and also are an easy claim to fame for many:

Messier 11
Bossy 22
Lemiuex 66
Bourque 77
Lindros 88
Gretzky 99

I know Pronger, Niinimaa were both 44's and both were pretty damn good Oilers. So, personally, I vote for 33 with 55 being runner up. Although, great Oilers with those numbers? I can't recall...

But: for vote purposes, picked 29. 33 or 55 are both very unlikely options to be picked.

McSorley rocked the 33. I think Ulanov had 55. Both are most often defense numbers.

He wants 29.

He said the numbers he received internationally were just given to him, apparently he uses #29 because there was a player using that number on his Dads old team in Germany who he was a fan of. That number is his preference. The INTL numbers mean nothing to him.
