What is McDavid doing ahead of Lindros, Fleury, Perreault etc.?

He'll ultimately finish higher than 7, but it's completely ridiculous as of now.

Jumbo Joe is too low. Lindros is too low.
Fleury is a great, great goalie, but he's too high.
Of course Mario Lemieux is #1.

Wendel Clark ahead of Mats Sundin? Was this a popularity contest?

While i still would pick Sundin ahead of Clark part of their consideration is how well the player chosen helped the team drafting them

Sort of ironic that what helps Clark was that he was traded for Sundin and what hurts Sundin is that he was traded for Clark

Posting the official criteria here, since most aren't probably opening that link.

Here’s the criteria TSN applied:
1. The player’s impact on the team that drafted them.
2. The player’s performance over the totality of his NHL career
3. The player’s achievements relative to those who were drafted No. 2 and 3

I really don't get Rejean Houle at 26 over a guy with 1300 points. Like, who's his backer. The guy was a meh player and then he destroyed the Habs reign of dominance as a GM. He might be the most hated man in MTL ever. Did he vote for himself or something?

I'm assuming this is why Thornton is below Tavares but then how can Lindros be higher than either? Refusing to sign and being traded for Forsberg shouldn't count as impact
