Vegas
I've been to Vegas many times. Obviously I just went to Vegas to stay in a hotel, go to Casino or see a show. Im sure people who live in Vegas do other things, and I'm sure there are more things to do surrounding Vegas or just outside of it, but I'd still be worried about my kids growing up in Vegas and getting into gambling and stuff because that's the main attraction of Vegas and you can't avoid it.

Are you aware of how many cities and states have gambling and casinos at this point?

I live in LA and there are many casinos here, but you wouldn't know it because LA isn't know to be a gambling city, Vegas is known for that

Umm yeah you can. It's actually pretty easy. I've lived here since I was 5 years old. I think I've been inside of a casino 5 times in the last decade.

If people have vices they're going to find trouble in any major city.
Not every kid grows up the same way. While you may have grown up not caring much about gambling and stuff, my kid might. I can only teach him so much until he's certain age, but in the end he's gonna make his own decisions

He can only get that 8th year up until free agency opens though right? Once free agency starts I doubt the Blues have a chance.
I'm not really too sure, to be honest, but I think your right regarding the 8th year. He's allowed to talk to teams before the date he actually becomes a UFA though. He's just not free to sign until he's officially a UFA of course. With COVID no idea what the new dates will be.

Edit, Thinking back didn't Stamkos re-sign just days before becoming a UFA to get the 8thyear??

With the new CBA they got rid of the talking period before free agency starts. He can't "officially" talk to other teams before the start of free agency.

Didn't know that but guessing his agent is "hearing hearsay" of what he might get out there possibly. Friends and family can still talk I suppose haha.

Yeah, definitely not. This is something that has been perpetuated forever and just isn't true. I have lived on the coast for a majority of my life, lived in Alberta and Western Ontario for a couple years. The temperature just does not compare. I can wear a hoody all year round and be perfectly comfortable and I can not say the same for the other parts of Canada I have lived in. I also much prefer the weather on the island compared to Vancouver which can be quite dreary for months on end.

That said, Calgary is a great City and I enjoyed my time there. I think AP would be a good fit for them.

I think I misspoke. I'm not saying that Calgary has superior weather to Vancouver. I'm just making the temperature feel comparative based on humidity. -10 to -15C is very much hoodie weather for many Calgarians as well. But Vancouver doesn't go as low as 0C or lower very often and Calgary goes below -15C on the regular with maybe 1-3 weeks per year of -30C or worse. We cannot do hoodies year round like Vancouver. The winter jackets/layering up definitely happen yearly.

I'm just saying Calgary winters aren't as bad as winters in many other Canadian cities and the raw temperature numbers aren't always comparable. Calgary vs Winnipeg/Edmonton at least we have the Chinooks to have regular breaks in the cold. Calgary vs East coast for -20C weather dry vs humid. Yuck. Not even close. I'll take Calgary at the same temp any day.

I agree with you about the Island being more favorable for winter than Vancouver.

EDIT: Random tidbit. Alberta is one of the few places in the world that is actually rat free. ;) Well... I guess other than Tkachuk.

I mean no matter how few prostitutes Vegas may have, I'm pretty sure St. Louis and Toronto would be his preferred places to live (in that order as well).

Trade Stastny. Trade Fleury with 2m retained or buy him out. That plus what they have currently is 15m in space.

Stastny is the easy target forsure.

But even if you trade Fleury with $2m retained, doesn't Lehner cost the $5m that you just traded away in Fleury?

Yes Fleury would cover the Lehner deal. We currently have 4.9m in space. That plus Stastny's 6.5 is 11.4. Would cover Petro and Stephenson. If I had my way we'd also move Marchessault to tinker with the forward group.

I can see him landing in Calgary, move Gio to the second pairing.

New Flames D

Pie-Hamonic
Brodie-Gio
Hanifin-Rasmusen
Valimaki

And if the Flames sign Markstrom, they are solid on the back end.
