The only way I can make any logic of this is if he's purely talking in terms of team accomplishments, where winning back to back would make Crosby's 3 cups more impressive than Toews' 3 cups.

Yay he might finally dethrone the mighty Toews. I guess that doesn't hold true for Malkin though, even if he wins his second conn smythe. Still the 101st best player.

He might finally dethrone Toews as the most overrated player, because some will call Crosby a Top-5 player of all time (while Toews was just called a Top-100 player of all-time).

That's the only way this claim makes sense.

Curious, but how is Crosby overrated?

Well, IF he's called a Top-5 player of all-time, then he IS (or WOULD BE) overrated.

I don't see Crosby as being generally overrated by people who are somewhat knowledgeable.

If a 100 point player ties a 60 point player in number of cups, the 100 point player is better?

Are you sure?

I don't get it. Why overrate Toews's accomplishments that much? Crosby has and is already performing at a high-level than Toews could ever hope to achieve. That alone puts Crosby farther ahead.

He must be talking accomplishments. Player-wise Crosby is far superior to Toews and no one can argue otherwise.

lebrun was saying when it comes to toews winning 3, that crosby winning back to back would pass him above all other winners since the cap. Was just about cup wins

Lebrun's a sharp guy. In the context of the conversation, Crosby would be above Toews as a "winner" if the Pens were to win the Cup this year.

Individually, Toews doesn't belong in the same sentence as Crosby.

Thanks for the laugh Pierre, the same guy who started the Due Doughty campaign. :biglaugh:

Yeah what Tunez said he meant is exactly what I thought he meant.

He's not talking about individual skill, just player success and the cup is the ultimate prize

Now I'm curious as to where knowledgeable hockey fans would rank Crosby on an alltime list. Top 10? Top 15??
