Couture's camp will use Johansen as comparable. Good for Logan, he's a fantastic player and a great teammate

perhaps. or they can point out that he is a much better player than evander kane, who just got 7mil.
how do you not give this guy 8?

Thornton signs a cheap contract with the Sharks on July 1st. But I think Logan Couture gets somewhere in the $8-10 Million dollar range for eight seasons.

if its 10 that is just insane. great player, but are we really at the point where 30g/55-65pt guys are worth 10 a year?

Shark retirement home in 5 years.
For sure! It’ll be a nice retirement home too! Filled with Tavares, Burns, Couture, Vlasic, Jones and Kane.

In all seriousness, the cap has been rising at approx. $10mil every 5 years. So while most of those contracts won’t age well, they shouldn’t drastically bring the team down. Especially considering that Thornton and Pavelski will be long gone by that point. The Sharks should have plenty of flexibility to stay competitive and/or retain some salary to move a few of those deals out.

Um, the Anaheim deals have worked out pretty well for them.

Not the Perry or Kesler ones....[/QUOTE]
Keslers was fine give him his year of sucking after surgery to see if he is actually done, but they also have rakell signed to a ridiculously cheap contract.

Perry is overpriced now but he just won the rocket and he is still an okay player
