Why do people keep assuming that Nylander and Kapanen are going to be sent down after this game?

I don't think either of them will, Leipsic was brought up as an emergency call up and will likely go back down but they may sit a player but keep them all here a while.

Based on the Leafs play the last two games I would not be surprised if they win tonight, despite having played the night before. Against Tampa they lost 2-1 and the winning goal was a bad one given up by Sparks, if that never happens we see Kadri score late and makes it a 1-1 tie with Sparks pulled for the 6 on 5. Last night against Washington who is the best team in the NHL, Toronto ties it 2-2 after being down 2-0 and don't forget prior to tying the game Kadri had a goal waived off for a high stick. If it was a few inches lower the game is tied earlier in the 3rd period, then Colin Greening would have given them a 3-2 lead.

gee, if all those Goals Agaist all year never happened we'd be in first place in the league by a long shot

Unless he regresses, Soshnikov will stay for the remainder of the season, just my hunch

@therantingfan given age and physical maturity I think Sosh and Hyman are ready to move up . Must remember Nylander/Kapanen are still 19. :)

Emergency recall ... seems there was debate here about not being able to do those because of the regular ups?

So running with 4 regular and 1 emergency tonight?

Nobody knows how the guys up have been called up. The Leafs now have 8 players on their team AHL playoff eligible, which means they were called up post deadline. Nylander, Kapanen, Carrick, Hyman, Soshnikov, Ben Smith, Sparks, and Leipsic. They might be all emergency callups since we just have enough to ice a full lineup. Leipsic definitely was because we were told. At least 3 other have to be, which means when guys like Bozak, and Michalek are healthy they'll be going back down, just have to wait and see which ones.

It's possible that none of our 4 callups have been used yet, but the moment 1 is used we have more than a healthy lineup so 1 of the emergency recalls have to go back down.

Lou said he was using emergency call ups in a presser to ensure that all were available to the Marlies.

Lou said he was using emergency call ups in a presser to ensure that all were available to the Marlies.

if true it doesn't really change anything though, like I said the moment we use 1 regular callup that would put us at 21 healthy bodies and 1 of the emergency callups would have to go down. Even if we have those 4 callups still available we can't get any extra prospects up without having to send guys down.

I saw that presser where he said all the prospects were AHL playoff eligible though, didn't hear him reference what type of callups they were. Do you have a link? Or a quote?

I don't remember Boyes getting hurt last night or even leaving the game early.

Couldn't they swap Michalek Bozak and Parenteau out for 3 other vets and leave the kids in the lineup. Something like

Soshnikov Kadri Komarov
Michalek Nylander Parenteau
Kapanen Bozak Hyman
Laich Holland Grabner

Extras

Greening Smith Boyes

Hunwick Rielly
Gardiner Corrado
Marincin Carrick

Sparks
Bernier

Still within the 23 man limit

I'd be in favour of this. Boyes has no value to us as a roster player or trade bait, and Greening shouldn't be on the roster ahead of them.
