Excited to see how he fits in. Versatile guy, but if he's our 2nd line winger, that says something about this team :help: Could strike gold though, let's hope.

Hard to say where Santorelli will slot in. Clarkson could be back on the 2nd line and maybe they plan on adding some offence to our 3rd line, to spread things out some more. Might not be a bad idea.

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Clarkson
Komarov - Santorelli - Kontiola
Ashton - Holland - Frattin
Brodie

All teams need these cheap signings, not much risk in 1 year deals.

Mike Santorelli Scouting Report:
“Skilled opportunistic playmaker with quick, nifty hands and good vision… skating is fairly quick and fluid but not dynamic… generates bursts of momentum by an alternating series of crossovers… needs to keep adding power and quickness to his stride, especially in startup… comfortable in possession… sneaky and elusive in tight quarters – makes sharp pivots and reversals with the puck… know how to open lanes coming off the halfwall and packs a quick, accurate wrist shot which he can unload without breaking stride… supports the puck carrier well in each zone, hustling to get around the puck and provide an outlet… continues to develop a more consistent compete level as he’s most effective when tenacious in puck pursuit… misses some size and physical intensity – and has to maximize his strength and conditioning… industrious player.â

Excellent pick-up.

Agreed.

Santorelli was the best player on the Canucks last year until the injury that sidelined him for the year. I don't think it was a coincidence that they fell off when he got injured. He forechecks hard, skates well, can score, wins faceoffs and he is an elite conditioned athlete. Only player to run a mile in under 4 on the Nucks other than the Sedins.
