McDavid was injured November 3rd. Draisaitl had 26 points in 27 games in November + December and 6 points in 11 games in January. After McDavid got injured he played his best hockey.
McDavid was back February 2nd and that's when Draisaitl's points started to taper. Likely due to him not being used to such a long season, which is common for many rookies/sophmores.

Trade doesn't make sense for either side.

Better trade proposal is RNH+ for Marner. It's not that Drai and Marner aren't comparable, but they fulfill very different roles on their teams. Toronto doesn't gain anything from trading Marner for Drai, and Edmonton doesn't either. RNH+ for Marner is an interesting idea though. Both teams could gain something there; granted RNH definitely does not have the value Marner does.

False claims? How many of those stat analytic breakdowns do you Oilers fans need to see that shows Draisatl’s production dips off dramatically with McDavid not with him. Your defence to it all was his 50 point season when McDavid got injured. He’s hit 70 since McDavid has been fully healthy..that’s no coincidence.
