Draisaitl is much better than Marner. He's also got size and can play defensively.

Yup he really is much better. Draisaitl doesnt hold a candle to him, not even close. Especially considering Draisaitl is a center, is bigger, is better 5v5, is better defensively, is better offensively and has put up more points the last two season.

Marner really is much better. Nothing more to discuss.

Makes no sense for these teams. Leafs add Draisaitl where? 3C? Not sure there’s consensus anywhere above that. Marner would be good on any team but Oilers giving up Draisaitl would be disastrous to their C depth.

This doesn’t work unless it’s a 3-way deal that sends Matthews to Arizona. But then the universe explodes.

EDIT: Leafs could consider this if Matthews made it clear he wanted to play for his hometown and some sort of rift was present because of Tavares. Zero indication it’s true just validating this insanity a bit. So obviously Arizona moves heaven and earth to get Matthews into the fold.

McDavid was injured November 3rd. Draisaitl had 26 points in 27 games in November + December and 6 points in 11 games in January. After McDavid got injured he played his best hockey.
McDavid was back February 2nd and that's when Draisaitl's points started to taper. Likely due to him not being used to such a long season, which is common for many rookies/sophmores.
