Shame, I'm sure most are crazy excited.
Looks like you've got a pretty boring month ahead of you waiting for those games.
I only get excited for games vs the Seals.

All the lineup and D combos and nobody is mentioning Gustafsson. He does have 7 goals and 38 points which would lead our D, and averages 20 mins/night, but I guess not as strong defensively. Gotta think between today and tomorrow with back to backs all of McCabe, Schenn and Gus will see the ice no? Unless as many have pointed out Gus is traded... must be a few teams out there that could use a 38 point pp specialist on a cheap contract. Also a good depth guy. Good problems to have I guess?
I think nobody's mentioning him because nobody knows what to make of him, I know I'm in that club. It sure is interesting to ponder though, probably would get more attention if there wasn't so much else to discuss and if people weren't waiting for the next move.

First game I'll be able to watch in a while, im really excited to see the new look leafs tonight and see how that new D of Edmonton works out.

Should be an entertaining game regardless.

McCabe & Lafferty should most certainly be in tonight.

I feel like they'll hold out Schenn & Gust tonight and play them tomorrow since we play back to back nights. Give Gio & Holl a night off tomorrow.

If you want to trade Holl, this game is perfect timing to showcase him. Denying McDavid space to build up speed on the zone entry is the one thing Holl is weirdly good at. Too bad there’s no contenders in the west willing to overpay for that.

Maybe, but I also don't think Keefe would hold out Gio against his old Flames club... or has enough time passed that that doesn't matter anymore? Dare I say too many bodies or is that not possible going into playoffs?

Teams don't want a soft dman with a low hockey IQ.

Good call. That would be a Babcock move, Keefe is definitely a players coach.

Yes they do, we got a 1st for Franson and someone signed Gardiner for 25 mil. Holl does some niche things very well, his streak of owning McDavid is one of his few redeeming qualities.
Franson and Gardiner were good offensive dmen though. Holl is a big slug.

Oilers bread and butter is the PP. Dont give them that but also remember refs have to give them that.

Its a one man team, stop him and you stop the Oilers.

Don't be surprised when McD cries to the refs half a dozen times for a soft PP call. It's the only chance they have at winning games and he knows it. We should be able to lay the smack down on these pretenders.

Scoring the first goal is gonna be huge. Campbell has mental breakdowns anytime he faces the tiniest bit of adversity, start on time, pot the first one and we probably win by 4

Excited to see the new look Leafs. There isn't a fanbase I hate more than the Oilers. But can't help but enjoy watching McDavid. Hope the next few weeks is a replay of that 3 game beatdown we gave them a few years ago during the Cdn division days. Should be a great game and atmosphere tonight.

Is this now the most highly anticipated game of the Year?
It's close but I'd still put Toronto-Boston in Boston on a Saturday night (Jan 14) as my top. Everyone knew that was going to be a playoff-style game and it did not disappoint (except for Tavares, what an awful turnover late in the game smfh)

This is up there though, lots of new faces for both sides!

Yeah, good call. I wasn't really thinking about past games.
This is definitely the most highly anticipated game today.
