I don't think disrupting the structure of a 115pt team in order to have more waiver-exempt D in the AHL is a good goal, and I'm not even sure if they are related goals the more I think of it.

He wouldnt be my target, personally. Montreals D is terrible yet he wasn't even close to earning a spot from what I saw.

Come on. If the Leafs traded the back to back first team allstar RW for pennies on the dollar we wouldn’t have had 3 injuries to depth guys and could have a better 9th Dman.

Yes it was pride that made us have 3 injured depth Dmen.
If he wasn’t so arrogant he could have a better #10 ready to go right now.

There are lots of reasons to criticize the Leafs and the way they have been managed. Them looking for a depth guy because of a run on injuries to guys who wouldn’t have made the lineup isn’t one of them.

It was hard to get a really good gauge of him on the Canucks as he only played two games but based on both his time on the Canucks and in the AHL, he's kind of just a guy that is 'there'. Not particularly a disaster on the back end, but not effective in any way either.

He's likely going to do as good a job as any guy on the waiver wire.
