Yeah a WHL goalie who has never faced a professional shot will surely swing the trade. Did you check Scott’s stats PRIOR to this season, coincidentally a season in which Prince Albert is multiple games ahead of every other team in the WHL and has five more wins than the second best team? Perhaps that has something to do with his stats, hmm? No I’m sure it’s just because of Ian Scott.

24-16-3, 3.10gaa/.897sv% last year on a team where the backup was 8-10-1 with a 0.33 higher gaa and .011 worse sv%

the backup this year has a 2.73gaa/.864sv% by the way. team was te joke of the league 2 years ago and now are an absolute powerhouse in large part to scott. give the kid his props

I mean let’s just take a look at what you’re proposing here. You’re proposing that a team who just traded two disappointing young players for someone who is much more proven and established, in hopes of improving their team, now trades (and even retains on!) a capable depth defenseman who now is even more needed because of injuries to Demers and Chychrun, and two of the remaining young forwards they developed, for a dime a dozen goalie prospect, a first round bust, a C prospect, and a late first round pick. Does this seem like something they would do based on the direction their franchise is headed in? Did you honestly think that this proposal makes sense for both sides? Seriously?

Probably a better player where Crouse is part of a package. He's playing great and unless management is looking at a 1 for 1 to go from a power forward with limited point potential to a speedy winger with greater point potential, there's not much point.

It has a lot to do with Ian Scott... More than anyone else on that team, including Leason. He's a large reason why they are winning all of those games.

The team has scored 129 goals in 26 games.They wouldn't even need a goalie to win .

Good stats in lower leagues don't say you will be an nhl player, they don't say you will be good. BUT they ABSOLUTELY do tell you if a person is ready for the next step. Otherwise all promotions would be arbitrary and if that is the case... god help your team cus your management team surely isn't.

Stats in lower leagues don’t mean much. Plenty of players have great stats in any lower league than the NHL. You name the league, I’ll give you plenty of examples. This is particularly true of the Jr Leagues because of the stark disparity between the teams. Tyler Parsons stats in the OHL suggested he was ready for the next step. Uh-oh. Carter Hart was unquestionably more pedigreed than Ian Scott, in the same league, guess he should be tearing up the AHL. Uh-oh. Maybe stats in those Jr leagues mean a lot less than you’d have us all believe.

Not everything translates from the jr game to the pros. Even from the AHL to the NHL numbers don’t always mean much.

Zykov just got claimed on waivers after scoring 33 goals on 30% shooting. Nothing is a given
