This year is all about the WJC for him. Can he show a maturing defensive style, along with his standard offensive instinct, at a higher level. He’s a cocky kid, let’s see if that raises his game.

Byram is going to be just fine you dolts. Avs were lucky as hell he was still available at four.

Byram, Makar, and Girard, maybe Timmins, Avs will be set. A starting line up of

Landeskog - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Byram - Makar

lol

really ? that would mean he is better than the first 3

Tied for 12th in scoring in the WHL among defensemen. Kind of surprised by that. Those that have seen him play this season, how has he looked? Is he focusing more on his defensive game this year?

From my viewings he is not fully engaged every game like last year and when he is, he is trying to do too much. Still a very dominant player. The Giants are much worse offensively and defensively compared to last year as well.

No it dosent...... in a nother year he might have been taken higher. It was also lucky that Chicago is having a lot of good d prospects, so that they wanted a forward.
in another year he might have been taken much much lower, like in 2020, so dont get your point; teams take BPA doesnt matter if its forward or D

Yes he might have been taken lower another season but colorado isnt going to draft in the. Topp 10 next year. I love BPA..... can you define how a team values BPA. Because that is different from team to team so we cant say that Chicagos need for forwards didnt have anything to do with their pick.

Its early, but Dach looks to be a better pick than Byram right now.

We'll see. It is hard to say anything definitive about any prospect from the 2019 draft at this point. We should check back in a couple of years as we should have a better idea at that time (although that still may be early in the process). I realize that this would go against the grain on these boards.

At this time last year, many people thought that Colorado had the weakest prospect/player from the top-5 selections of the 2017 draft.
