I know many here like to discredit Brooks,
I found all 3 articles this week decent reads
in the line combo article, stats of Kreider paired w Fil were an interesting point

... fire when ready ...

Didn't read them, but quick comment. You want lefty-righty forward combos. Kreider-Zibanejad is absolutely dominant in the rush, and had some epic forechecking shifts that lead to 5 man cycles.

Net/net I would treat a developing line-up a little differently. You can move the other wing around. Eventually you'll see the lines evolve with both chemistry and the ability fill roles.

So Chytil Panarin might be worth checking out if/when Fil starts pushing for more minutes, especially if Filly does rebounds. 3rd year ELC Filly

Yes, Ranger fans love Brooks no matter what. He's our golden calf.

The relationship between a writer and players shouldn't be a comfortable one.

This is very true. I dont want to READ a columnist who "soft strokes" players. Tell it like it is. REPORT, while trying not to RIDE or being very hurtful in trying to DESTROY a player with continued criticism. Put your thoughts out there and let the readers decide whether it was warranted or not.
I've read Brooks for every one of those 40 years, and as a child, that literally was the 1st thing I was looking for, an article FROM BROOKS, because it was tied into our Rangers.

Yes, he sounds idiotic at times, but ask yourself WHY? Because no one person reading will ALWAYS agree with what is written.
Just ask Brian Boyle.

Not firing, but I still hold on to my bullets! Lol. Anyway, with my bolded, if its the same reference, I have "visions" of a 3rd line consisting of Kreids/Chytil/Gauthier. The big, the bad and the beautiful. You figure out who is who.
Regardless, just imagine the size, skill and speed of that line. On the 3rd line no less! AGAINST other 3rd or even 4th lines. If they become what I envision, opposing teams might actually have to "prepare" for that onslaught. Defensively would be the main challenge, but with those attributes already, wouldnt it be MORE about some really good coaching?

I agree. I'd love to see Kreider/Chytil/Gauthier going after 3rd lines. And that's after hitting teams with two very good lines.
