3 on 3 is a gimmick, but at least it's mimicking playing hockey, unlike the shootout, which is nothing more than a skill competition.

I want to see penalties traded.

One team gets a PP. Then the other gets a PP and if its still tied you play another one. A shorthanded goal at any time ends it.

At least you have some form of defense and back and forth hockey to decide the game. I would rather see that as well.
