To get Vancouver

Vancouver would have to finish 1st in the conference ( 3 points behind Dallas 6 games to go - will be tough)
and LA finishes WC2 or

Vancouver wins the Pacific but is behind Dallas (currently) and
Vegas(92) wins more games than LA(91) who have to win more games than Nashville(92) - a real thread the needle scenario or

Edmonton (97p 7 games to go) would have to pass Vancouver (102p 6games to go) and LA would have to pass Vegas
Vancouver would be P2 and LA P3

LA is looking at Dallas (LA would be WC2) or Edmonton (LA would be P3) in the 1st round
Or Kings end up WC wild card ahead of Perds as 7 seed and face Canucks as 2 seed.

That Saturday Nucks at Oilers game could be decisive.

The posturing about whom the Kings match with is fun, but inconsequential to the outcome.

This roster is gonna get its f***in cheeks clapped with a fierceness in the post season. No heart, no fire, no chance.

Seems like a faction here believe they have a decent chance against the Nucks.

You sound like a Golden Seal 's adjacent fan anyway.

It wouldn’t be a day at hfboards without Muzz Murray questioning the loyalty of members who have been posting here longer than he has.

How can we call Vancouver soft with Soucy, Miller, Joshua and Zadorov and all we have is Englund.
They have that perfect sear where there is a rigid crust yet it is tender on the inside

Vancouver is softer than every West playoff team that isn't the Kings. They're like the garlic, black peppercorns, and rosemary and Colorado/Dallas/Winnipeg are mortars & pestles that will easily grind them down into a roast rub.

What the canucks have in grit they lack heavily in talent. Im not worried about them. But when you have dudes like McDavid taking out your players, now thats a team that the Kings will get piped from.

The Kings D struggle against north-south forwards who weigh 225 lbs on average. The Canucks don’t have those guys. Edmonton, Vegas, Colorado, Dallas and Nashville do. That’s why the Canucks are our best matchup in round one, followed by Winnipeg.

But either of those have the matchup in goal, except that Demko has been injured. So BLuc is praying for the Canucks right now.

Posted this in the GDT kind of on accident as it was about the season as a whole rather than just a reaction to the game

It's funny. There are some bad seasons in Kings history...a lot more bad than good. But even in the bad you got the sense we were building towards something...exciting youth, a high draft pick, some passion and fun, at least physical play for pride.

This might be one of the most pointless and depressing seasons in Kings history, watching a capped out, aging out, boring, soft, answerless team devoid of futures flail around buoyed only by a hot start, hurtling towards an endless black hole guided by incompetent executives whose understudies that would inevitably take over might be worse than they are and being fellated by the local media for it.

Now I remember why I was losing interest in hockey the FIRST time Blake burned the franchise on his way out, thanks Rob, for being such a pivotal figure in LA hockey.

zadorov. gudas. killorn.
there were all these guys available and blake gets our sweet pierre ?
i guess it would be funny if these and other decisions made by the kings front office were made by a different team. funny in a cynical, sick way.
over this season ive never been less enthusiastic about the team and its future than i am now. i hope for change but with every change they make my reaction is amazement that management can be so detached and apathetic towards the team, the season, the teams future and its personell. its like every move they made and make is wrong. for this kings fan its becoming more like watching a slow motion train wreck in horror than having fun with prospects for the future as a champion. it shold be interesting at least to watch this years push to and possible sucess in the playoffs.
