I could see him moving to wing if he's not working as a centre. Could be another Nuge situation where he ends up playing with McDavid when the team needs a goal.

As soon as he was bought out you had to know this was coming. Great dollars and term. I'm happy.

Now unload Costco and steal that other guy from those chumps down south.

It’s not great, but Turris at the cap hit and term is not bad. I wish he was a little tougher and was better PK/FO guy. I think a line of Neal/Turris/JP could outscore opponents 5v5.

Can’t argue with the money but I’ve never been sold on Turris in the west. I think he’s one of those players that for whatever reason struggles in the west.

Now the question is where do they see him playing?

When you sign a solid depth player for a minimal price, its hard to hate
This is the 3C people are clamouring for, yeah?

I'm sure there will be people that say it's a bad move because he should have signed someone else that probably wasn't willing to sign here, but that's one more box checked for next year :DD

Turris looked good in Ottawa. He was playing with some fire in his belly..
I was pretty surprised they traded him.

Doesn’t look like he had a good time in Nashville. Kind of surprised he settled for a 3rd line spot.

I approve of this. Beautiful cap hit.
He was pretty good in Ottawa but he's not close to that player now. But at that price he's worth the gamble.

I haven't paid much attention to him since he left Ottawa but I remember him to be a somewhat dangerous skilled guy with a pretty wicked release and nice soft hands. Smooth, skilled skater. Not too bad as far as two way play either. I wonder what happened to him in Nashville. To be bought out at age 31 is odd. Hopefully not due to injuries. A guy with his hands and shot and skating ability should be able to pot a fair amount of goals.

Turris is pretty much done, but at least they didn't pay much. He will be hard pressed to be worth even what they paid him. I see future Oilers fan punching bag written all over him.

Playing at a 40+ point pace is pretty good for someone who's pretty much done.

Not a huge fan. He hasn't been very productive 5 on 5 over the last 3 years and doesn't do much to make us tougher to play against.

Yep. This is 31yr old Kyle Turris people. Productive can't be said at this point and this is not too physical a player now either. Interestingly now lighter than Sam Gagner, the inevitable comparison, who we just had, and was a better producer. Unlike Sam here Turris actually gets topsix minutes a fair amount and does little with them the last couple seasons. Single digits in goals last 2 seasons. A combined 54pts last 2 seasons. Averages to 27. Not a producer. But not really much of a role player either anymore.

Imagine this guy trying to produce with pylons like Khaira around.

Great pick up at that price. Right handed and can score. Great move. Finally a Strome replacement.

Strome was young prime here with all kinds of upside. This is 31 year old done Turris. Have you seen this guy play last few seasons? You won't even notice him. Sheahan probably held as much promise.

Strome was making 2.5M when he played here. Do you really think he was 1M better than Turris?

.... I hate it.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I see Turris as a one way top 6 or bust player who more often than not landed bust.

That is neat. However a lot of people say he isn't good enough to play in the top6 and doesn't fit in a bottom-six, so where does he play? Are we going to run a sheltered scoring line as our 3rd line with Turris?
He'd be good with McDavid. And maybe he will for in with the bottom six with some sandpaper on the wings. It's not ideal imo but also cheap lol

Better here, or a better player? Strome most definitely the better player.
How about you wait and find out before complaining. Turris has yet to play here.
Strome was just okay as a 3C. Still tryin got find a role on the team before being shipped out.

Strome might be the better player today but he's going to cost 4M. Thanks to Panarin

Just out of curiosity, is the #3C no longer required to be a faceoff specialist AKA Boyd Gordon or Mike Peca back in '06?

He'll take Haas' spot on that soft minute, offensive bottom six line of Nygard/Neal-Haas-Chiasson, I'd guess.

Which is strange because Turris was a very slow developing player in Arizona that wasn't getting anything done. Took Turris 7seasons to even hit 30pts..

He also had the frame of a 15 year old girl during that time. He's still fairly thin for his height, but he's a grown man now.

At his price tag, it's fantastic value IMO for our bottom 6.
