Great pick up at that price. Right handed and can score. Great move. Finally a Strome replacement.

It pretty much has to be or we won't have enough penalty killers. Nice to see that Turris and Tippett are willing to work together again, shows maturity and growth.
Certainly makes me more reassured in the signing if Tippett thinks he can rebound and Turris is up for the challenge.

Using the fourth line as a shutdown line then? Don't we need some minute munchers?

We need minute munchers when we don’t have a much in way of scoring and shutdown lines.

If the Oilers have 3 scoring lines that play responsible hockey and most importantly SCORE then you need a 4th line to shutdown the opposition.

He's coming off a year where he paced for 41 points. That's a very solid #3C, and 1.65 is an absolute steal.
The only thing I would be concerned about is that his performance has dropped off dramatically the last 3 years. He's a skinny thing so if he isn't scoring he's not doing much.

Not a prototypical 3C, but $1.65m is a steal. Given that, and his level of talent, he's the best player we've had in this role since J. Stoll.

Are there really many shutdown 3rd lines anymore? Or 4th lines? Usually seems power against power and everyone else needs to be somewhat 2-way or penalty killers.

Turris looked good in Ottawa. He was playing with some fire in his belly..
I was pretty surprised they traded him.

Doesn’t look like he had a good time in Nashville. Kind of surprised he settled for a 3rd line spot.

I approve of this. Beautiful cap hit.

Don't get too mad at me...

...he's pretty slow now and looked done to me. Gliding out there instead of skating.

At least it's cheap.

Do mine eyes deceive me? Is this something that everyone almost unanimously likes?

Rejoice!
