I doubt he is getting traded before the season starts. No real options via free agency to replace his position and unless Caps are planning to tank they are not going into the season with such a big hole at center. My best guess is if the team is going good he will stick around until next summer at least. If things go bad he is gone next TDL.

I didn’t realize Kuznetsov was a left winger, nor did I know the Caps would retain 3 million for us to fit him in.
Aside from that we also won’t really be willing to pay anything for him because we won’t resign him when his contracts is up in a couple years.
Lastly not sure he’s the guy I want around our very young core.

So you can see the dilemma I’m sure…
