Kadri and Klingberg make the most sense.Kadri wants a chance to be the guy,he has always been a 2nd line center and Klingberg is a solid 1-2 defensemen.

Are there any who would be interested in the Kraken this early in the team's development? The team probably has at least one more year before they contend for or make the playoffs.

The '23 offseason seems to be the one where they should try to sign the younger UFAs.

The younger UFA very good UFA's most likely sign before they hit free agency.

Has anyone bought a Cup in the modern salary cap era? Even the Blues had a #4 pick on defence that was key to their Cup. Need a run of top 5/15 picks in a three to four year period to build that core then add vets in UFA after that. They need more than Matty Beniers.

contending and being the playoffs are two different things. the kraken are nowhere near contending. also just b/c Francis wants to spend big, doesnt mean all players want to play there. players who value winning wont rush to sign in seattle.

They didn't learn from las year?

Kraken should focus on 3yr or less deals and spin them into deadline assets and stock up picks
They already have 18 combined picks in the first four rounds of the next two drafts, nine in the first two rounds of this year and next. They can focus in actual players now unless there’s a first rounder in the mix.

Theyll likely have even more for next year after this next seasons deadline.

With Hakstol and Francis at the helm this doesn't give me confidence. I don't think it was possible for them to pick a worse expansion roster than they did. And Hakstol doesn't exactly have a good coaching record even when he had talent on his rosters.

Francis sucks. Flat out sucks. The Kraken are my 2nd favorite team and are just wasting time until they replace him as GM.

You don't win jamming up your cap by overpaying for numerous players in the UFA market. It's meant to highlight a core you 100% need to build through the draft.

The Kraken would be much better served to suck again this year and aim for Bedard in 2023. That would be a game-changing move.

I guess but 3 of the guys you mentioned are mid 30's

If you are a contender that's one thing but should Seattle really be giving Malkin say 4 years 8.5 per?
I agree. If they are to make those type of signings it will just set them up for mediocrity for years to come and no building blocks.

Ron Francis is gonna try to make up for the expansion draft.

Why do people keep saying this? How did he mess up the ED, by not taking Tarasenko? You do know that they got Dunn from St. Louis who was one of the Kraken's best D last year, is younger and wasn't coming off two injury riddled seasons. Duchene, who had 13 points the season before and had a massive contract? Voracek, who's in his 30's making a ton of money? The only bad move they made was taking Vanacek and not Dillon, they could've got an extra 2nd out of that deal.
