Let this serve as a “meet-and-greet” of sorts for the HF members that are planning on making this their first or second team. Say hi and tell your new family all about yourself and why you’re a fan of this yet-to-be-named team.
As for me, I’m planning on moving to Oregon or Washington within the next year. I’m originally from St. Louis and have been a suffering Blues fan since birth, but I’ve always loved the city of Seattle and am excited to move to the Great Northwest.
I’ve been a fan of the Thunderbirds for the past 4 years (they’ve been my WHL team) due to their awesome colors and logo, as well as this guy named Mathew Barzal... If only there was a way for both teams to be the Thunderbirds and use that great color-scheme.
I’m a big Pearl Jam fan, a vegetarian (Sizzle Pie is dope), and a big believer in humidity, so I feel like this is the place and team for me. Here’s to the beginning of a long-term relationship with this new franchise. Welcome everyone!

Have been covering this team for some time now and through the process have gotten to know some amazing people. The community is spectacular and although I grew up outside of a Boston as a lifelong Bruins fan... it's hard not to be drawn to what is happening. With my communications with the ownership group and grass roots programs advocating hockey in the region, there is no question in my mind that this team is going to go above and beyond anything we could imagine.
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you and doing my best to keep you all in the loop- we are officially a fanbase.

I grew up in Washington state but now live in the UK. I've been a Penguins fan for over 25 years now, but all my other teams I support by default are Seattle sports. My grandfather was a Green Bay Packers fan in the 60s before we got the Seahawks in the 70s. Sadly he passed away before the Seahawks arrived, so the Penguins have been like my grandpa's Packers. I love hockey more than any other sport. I used to watch the WHL games -- Thunderbirds, Silvertips, Americans and Chiefs. My family always has some hockey tickets for me and take me to a game when I visit home.
Naturally I still call Washington state my "home" so I'm going to have support and interest in the Seattle team, though it will still be a lot easier for me to stay up and watch the Penguins since Seattle and the west coast teams start well after 2am! But I'll try to watch Seattle when I can.
P.S. loved the Seahawks at Wembley stadium this year, it was amazing!

Oh I'm totally stoked. The NFL and NHL are the only professional sports I follow so I've wanted Seattle to get an NHL team for decades now.

Having a username of a feminized form of a Coyotes' player's first name (or at the very least starting with the same letter) plus their last name is just a thing I do. Katie Connauton is for Kevin Connauton. I forgot why I chose KConn in particular. On Discord, my username is Christina Fischer.

It's an inside joke on the LGP board because the Penguins were digging themselves out of a hole in early 2009 when Therrien got fired and the Pens were out of the playoffs and they went on to win the Cup that year. I was known for drawing this penguin with a shovel.

The Penguins since the early 90s. I'm pretty big on loyalty so I can't just quit them. But Seattle is my home city too, so I am making room in my heart for two teams.

Hi there - grew up in Port Orchard, WA (near Bremerton). Became a Vancouver fan at college in Bellingham, and then an Avalanche fan at grad school in Boulder.
Seattle is now my #1 team, although I'll continue to root for the Avs as well, at least until Seattle hits the ice.

I don't know if I have have second teams anymore. I've been around the block so many times and made so many friends that I just have a group of allies at this point. The Sharks, Canucks, Leafs, and Lightning are all allies. Believe it or not, I'm also getting there with the Ducks after years of being angry at each other.
But anyway, I'm hoping Seattle will be an ally and I really wanna play, so I'm gonna play.

The Rangers traded Michal Roszival for Wojtek Wolski in January 2011 (note my join date) and after googling the trade, I found people on here arguing about it. The rest is history.
3) How did you come up with your screen name?
I got an xbox 360 for Christmas in 2007 and was trying to think of a username for xbox live so I could play Halo with my friends and not be a noob (I still was). I couldn't think of a damn thing and frustrated, I put some music on shuffle. First song that came on: Bush - Machinehead. It just clicked. I've been Machinehead on every medium since then.
4) Current team, and which will be #1?
The Rangers, forever and always.....I guess The organization itself, I've had my differences with, but I would lay down and die for HFNYR. I could never leave our fanbase. They're family.
5) Any players you hope Seattle will get?
Depending on where the Rangers are at in a couple of years, Jimmy Vesey and Jesper Fast are good players who would be on the bubble for expansion. Although, I can't honestly say that I "hope" we lose Fast

Writing, gaming, statistics, (no shit, right?). Also been known to play Yu-Gi-Oh and learn anything I can about Greek Mythology.

I'm a writing professor in college. I'm not an English professor; I'm a writing specialist within other departments.

When I have a student that's clearly talented, but doesn't know structure, and I can teach them structure, and then they create something that's still their voice but within a coherent system, that's f***ing magic. That's what I get up in the morning for.

Not being able to let things go. I can get in vicious arguments with people and forget about it in 20 minutes.

I have alien brain for crafting an argument and articulating it. It's the one thing I had great natural talent at. I was born to be an essayist. And half the time I'm wrong (more than half!) but I can make it sound decent at the time.

Having spent 28 years in Boston and then coming here, I was absolutely floored how in to the junior hockey they are here. Rivalry between Winterhawks and Silvertips is REAL lol
Live in Shoreline WA (suburb immediately North of Seattle city). Play in GSHL for 2 teams (lower divisions). #2840 in Seattle NHL ticket list. Seahawks season ticket holder for 15 years. Involved in pooled season tickets for MLS Sounders & UW football too. Go to a few Mariners & WHL games a year but with 2 young kids these are less frequent.
Grew up in Vancouver and am a lifelong Canucks fan - until 2021 that is. Family had Canucks season tickets from inception for about 25 years.

I live in southwest WA on the Columbia, with many trips each week into PDX for work and a handful of Winterhawks games each year. Aside from the Flyers and (more casually) the Winterhawks, all of my favorite teams are in Seattle.
I stopped watching the NBA entirely after the Plundering.
My fam and I are beyond excited to attend NHL games in SEA, a city I love to visit anyway.

Hi, I'm BattleBorn, I'm from Las Vegas and I recently moved to Bellevue.
While I don't have much intention of switching allegiances again (going from the Blackhawks to the Knights was something I never thought would happen, but Las Vegas was home) I'm definitely excited to experience expansion excitement from ground zero once again and I was happy to volunteer to try to get another expansion franchise subforum started here at HF. I love Seattle so far, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the hockey virus take further hold here. I've already gone to a few Thunderbirds games, I've driven up to Everett just to see where the Silvertips play, and I'm sure I'll catch a few games at the new arena. Plus, I've got the benefit of being a fan of the only team that isn't really impacted by the expansion draft, so I can root for Seattle to have a great draft and also not fear losing a great player.
I'm also happy to accept any monetary offers from people in other potential NHL cities, since apparently NHL expansions follow me around.
