CJ had Kreicji and Bergeron.

MT had Desharnais and Plekanec.

There's no denying MT has been an idiot at developing Galchenyuk beyond his rookie season.

That doesn't excuse the fact Boston ended up trading Seguin because he didn't fit in with the "Bruins" culture, and rarely gave him a shot a center, if even on a 3rd line.

They could have. They didn't. They traded him. Just like they traded Kessel and Hamilton. He hated Spooner too.

Julien doesn't like skill anymore than Therrien. I'm sure Therrien would have had success with Bergeron and Krejci instead of DD and Plekanec on his first two lines too.

That contract seems like a good move for Vegas. I bet MB got hung up on the 2 years. Remember he would only give Radulov a 1 year deal. Anyway, another center available, another center gone.

With that lineup can I ask what you used to get the #1 center? A twitch of Samantha Stephens' nose.

hahaha, nice reference.

Offer sheet a guy like RyJo or Kuznetsov in particular. 1st rounders, picks, prospects, Plex, Emelin, Beau etc. Not saying it will be easy or that guys like Chucky will stay but we need two centres if we trade him so it makes no sense to trade him and create another hole.

When there's a will, there's a way! This off season in particular promises to have a LOT of movement and names available that wouldn't ordinarily. We'll see what happens but it's not like we don't gave the chips or the cash available.

Seguin led the Bruins in scoring in 2012. As a winger. What's the issue?

Julien hated his leading scorer? Is that really the line of nonsense you are pitching here?

Tyler Seguin got traded for things he did off the ice, not on them.

No no... You see, his agent was calling to express his client's disinterest in joining the habs! Or something like that.

Can't even make an offer to the guy. Didn't even try.

Pathetic.

Its pathetic. *Absolutely pathetic that we didn't put in a competitive offer.*

Seriously we should have outbid the 4.5. *He might still have picked vegas, who knows. *But to completely and utterly fail to make an offer? *He's gotta go. *The GM has GOT TO GO.*

Can't trade for a centre
Can't draft a centre, and the one guy he does draft he plays on the wing
Doesn't make competitive offers for an available free agent centre
Signs Briere, plays him on the wing. (don't think he'd have been the solution but still)

Nothing. Its like they don't even try. Bergevin was happy with DD - Plek - Eller for 4 years, and now he's Happy with Danault - Plek - Shaw.

No solutions. He has no solutions to the biggest problem on the roster. And its been that way for 5 years.

Was Tyler Seguin really that much worse than Brad Marchand or Lucic off the ice?

What I said is, they traded him because he allegedly didn't fit in with their culture.

"He's a star player. There's no doubt. But does he fit with our culture?"

"He's not a physical player. He relies all on his skill."

I agree with what you're saying but the frustrating part would be that they knew he wasn't a physical force and they still drafting with the no.2 pick rather than trading it for what they were looking for. Ultimately no matter the scenario, the Bruins bare full responsibility for Seguin. They clearly knew what he was and tried to make him something he wasn't which rarely if ever works.

feels like MB will look other places for scoring help

Yes, we are busy evaluating all 4th line centers to see who has the likeliest chance of becoming a top 2, two way center, that might be available for a 3rd rounder or less.

MB must love playing the penny slots.

Do you really think the only considerations were salary based? (cap/duration). If Shipachev needed other things not related to it and it was a problem for the Habs?

Also, it is important to look at the agent. Is he representing other players you want? How will an offer be received if he asked you something mandatory and your offer doesn't contain it?

Maybe Ship likes to gamble.

Little does he know he'd be gambling with his life driving on Pont Champlain before every practice. He's missing out on a thrill!

Guys Habs will resign Desharnais.

Danault - Desharnais - Pleks as your centers isn't bad is it?

Is he the person who said not to sign Shipashev to a cheap contract, not to offer two years to Radulov, or is that on Bergevin?

The Habs also had an advanced stats guy, who told them not to trade Subban for Weber.

 where do you guys get this stuff from ? How in heck would you know its a cheap contract ?
