Despite his poor play, and failure to live up to expectations (not sure how anyone could with that contract), he was a pro through and through. Never pouted.

I really feel he would have flourished under Carlyle if given the chance. It's a shame really.

Class act all the way.

Komisarek almost certainly knew he would be bought out long in advance

Grabo got blindsided with a buyout the day before his wedding and was approached by a member of the media hours after receiving the news

two totally different situations

I don't think anyone is arguing that.

I'm just saying it's easier to go out of town quietly when you've never had any success.

Grabovski was a very successful player in his time here, who was very unceremoniously dumped after being buried by a coach who was asking for two very different things from him (shutdown that scoring line while also producing points.) I understand Grabovski's frustration perfectly. And while it may not be "classy," I think an employee reserves the right to be pissed at his boss after he's fired.

Grabo had 4 seasons in which he was a top forward on the team. He had one bad half season...

Komisarek sucked throughout his tenure...

good luck in Carolina Komi... wasn't his fault that he got hurt badly his first season and never recovered mentally enough to get back to being a touch force in teh D zone. The fans were very hard on him because of that. NOw with less pressure, i'm sure he'll turn it around.

I was expecting Komisarek to be an absolute monster on the back end for the Leafs. It's unfortunate we only got to see him as if the game passed him by years ago.

I dont think even us Leaf fans would argue that at 700k he is a steal. Guy just wasn't able to live up to his contract, and heck even at 2 million he would have road that contract out on the Leafs and we probably wouldn't be writing the same story about him.

Also it didn't help that he played for Wilson. If he joins the team after Carlyles arrival I don't think he regresses at all.

Good guy Komo. I remember when we signed him, I was excited. I wish it would have worked out for him. Still wish we maybe played him a bit more under Carlyle just to see how he fit.

He does have a right to moan, but..... I wish someone would have given me millions just before my wedding day

Komisarek knows he sucked his whole time here, he really doesn't have anyone else to blame but himself. Unfortunate for him, I think he can play well given the right situation. That situation definitely wasn't here under Wilson and I feel like he blew his chance of playing this year the moment he broke his stick in frustration that one day during practice injuring his eye.

Grabo I think has the right to be frustrated. I feel he has played well during his time in Toronto and for all his hardwork and performance was rewarded with a 5 year contract, which to him was security to get married and raise his young daughter. But then new coach comes in who doesn't seem to like him and he gets surprised by a buyout shortly after he settled into his new (former) life that he thought he had for at least 4 more years. I'm sure he will cool down soon enough with all the extra money he will have because of this, but in the heat of the moment I could see myself blowing up like he did too.

He stood up to Lucic and others when no one else would on the Leafs

He broke his arm falling in front of a slapshot

Yeah he was not great no discussion needed but he had a heart like a lion and never ever complained..
