As soon as Kochetkov is ready, Perets goes back to Norfolk and Kochetkov is activated.

There's a 7 day minimum for injured reserve, but it's retroactive and Kochetkov has been out since January 11. So he can be activated whenever he is ready.

This just means Perets gets a few more days in the NHL.

It would be good to get Martin the start tonight but then again PK could use a start too particularly since the teams scheduled after the break are Vancouver and Colorado (and would want him to get a start in before facing them).

my "guess"? Is right now, they view Raanta as the back-up come playoff time, so giving Martin a start isn't overly meaningful.

He's also not being sent to Chicago, he was sent back to Syracuse where Carolina had a deal for Kochetkov earlier.

Syracuse has games on 1/31, 2/2, and 2/3. I can see him playing one of the weekend games to knock some rust off at a minimum.
