Interesting... that's why I asked. If Muzzin can play RD effectively, then you guys should do it. But how are you acquiring Muzzin with a 1st and who as a prospect? If not Sandin and Liljegren?

Help the Kings out... what prospects are you putting on the table?

Muzzin has never played the right side so that would be a risk if they were going to play him there. He may be great just saying we have not seen it yet on the right side.

Solid top 4 guy at a low contract for another year> solid top 4 guy who can walk at the end of season.

Think of it this way you trade for Muzzin, and it does not work out you can flip him next year.
Trade for Trouba and it does not work out, you be be screwed.

Trouba is not a UFA at the end of season... Trouba (if not signed for 2 years or more) and Muzzin hit UFA at the same time in summer of 2020

Guess you was sleeping when Muzzin was our 2nd best defenseman on a cup team.

That's debatable, IMO. Having the 2nd-most points doesn't mean 2nd-best defenseman. He benefited greatly from playing alongside Doughty both at even strength and on the powerplay and always being on the ice with the top forwards. Don't forget that he was not as good back then as he is now. Doughty and the forwards really supported him those first few years.

He is very rarely used with Drew

He is rarely with Drew and go back to 14 who wasbetter than Muzzin. Only Drew. RR was very good but still not better than Muzz.

Voynov was in there too. If the poster would have said that Voynov carried Muzzin at least the pairings would have been right

Muzzin is signed for a extra year and has made no indication he want to go anywhere else. The same can not be said for Trouba who is ufa. Your trying to compare apples to oranges here.

Both players have two years team control left, that’s apples to apples.

one is getting paid 5.5 looking for a raise the other is paid 4 for another year think again

Trouba is not a UFA at the end of the year which was what the original post being quoted (#652) says.

Trouba will be an RFA in 2019 looking for a pay raise
Muzzin will be a UFA in 2020 looking for a pay raise

Your changing the subject, he isn’t a UFA at year end. One is five years younger then the other, one is a going into his last year of a long term contract. Not sure what your trying to debate
