It just happened LOL saw it on TSN facebook. A bit too late to trade for a goalie panic move by Marc... Oilers retian 25% of Scrivens salary. Pretty much Brandon Prust for Scrivens and a 5th rounder lol

Scrivens is 2-6-1 in AHL.... How is he better than Tokarski

@TSNBobMcKenzie: RT @EdmontonOilers: The #Oilers have acquired forward Zack Kassian from @CanadiensMTL in exchange for goaltender Ben Scrivens. https://t.co/wCKjFJweMo/s/9JAu

I was expecting something like this. We add 0.5M on the cap... for a guy who may or may not be better than Tokarski/Condon. Meh..

    EDIT:

With the oilers retaining 25% of the cap hit, this comes out to about the same thing. This is a good trade for us considering we had thrown the towel on Kassian anyway.

With that distraction out of the way, the Habs can get back to losing.

Scrivens not exactly lighting it up in the AHL this year. From the press release:

"Scrivens, 29, displays a 2-6-1 record in 10 games thus far this season with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors, along with a 3.47 goals against average and a .893 save percentage."

How many goals has Montreal score over this losing stretch?

If he's out longer, Scrivens is far from being the answer.

Oilers retain 25% so about the same cap hit. Nice.

If he's able to move Kassian for Scrivens, I'm sure he'll be able to get DD out of here soon.

    This only means good things.

This is *********. Get a goalie about a month too late. Could have had Khudobin for free.

Hilarious... MT managed to convince this idiot GM that they are losing because of goaltending.

He just buys into whatever the moron coach says.

Actually, we would have added Khudobin's cap hit without unloading Kassian. This trade serves both purposes. And that's without considering who's the better player between Scrivens and Khudobin (I don't know who is, just throwing it out there).

I heard Scrivens is going to play RW on the top line.

    I want to puke....

Scrivens has been downright terrible this year in the AHL.

This really smells of a panic trade.....

At least now when people start to throw Habs jerseys on the ice we can save money on cleanup crew.
