Karlsson's season and future | MOD Warning Post 508

Hopefully we can keep this thread open and fill it up as the season progresses.

I know it has only been two games (and a few pre-season games), but from what I have seen his positioning seems off and he is getting beat wide the same way he was a couple of seasons ago. He also doesn't make those dartish passes up the rink to a forward with speed - might be due to forwards not finding the open areas as well. He also looks really timid in puck battles, letting opposing players outskate him to the puck. Last but not least, I haven't seen a single (successful) rush yet either.



I hope this is just rust and not physical and/or mental parts of his injury. What do you guys think so far, what do you expect, am I overly negative?

Well, he has one game winning goal in two games as well. But yeah, he is a bit off at the moment, but so is the entire team. Panic at this point, two games in, would be completely irrational given his entire body of work in his career so far.

And like I wrote, this thread is meant to be running during the season, to be updated about everyone's opinions. Or aren't we allowed to have an opinion at this point?

You're jumping to conclusions. Karlsson is just fine. He's at a point where it's his own choice whether he wants to be good or bad.

Karlsson was the best skater against Buffalo. He was amazing that game; could have been even better though.
