LOL. I think with or without the thread the Sharks staying at the bottom is wishful thinking. I read the article this morning and while it's feel good it's not much. We got good value though, no question.

Better scenario: one of our current first rounders wins a top 3 pick
Best case scenario: both of our first rounders win top 3 picks

Any scenario massively accelerates this rebuild.

I did say at the time of the trade was that the only thing I like were the conditions on the 1st round pick. It gave Ottawa two chances at SJ having a bad season and getting their pick.

If we get a top 15 pick, Tierney, Demelo, Balcers, Norris & (2x) 2nd rounders then that's a very good haul for a player that wasn't resigning with us. The Duchene deal to CBJ and Dzingel deal to CBJ were fine. It's the Hoffman and Stone deals that really sucked.

our top 10 pick+karlsson+spending up to or near the cap could easily move us forward
