That said, what pisses me off the most is how everyone seems to be overreacting to this whole thing, particularly with the insults toward Kaleta and even the team and the fans:
I'll second this. It's not even the media, but just people around here. The second something like this happens from someone with a reputation, it seems every douchey hockey fan comes out of the woodworks with their "holier than thou" campaign. Knocking down Kaleta for being "garbage", knocking down Sabres fans for defending him even the tiniest bit.
I'm starting to think the forums are the only place some people ever have leverage in a conversation, so they need to skull **** their "rightness" into peoples heads at every opportunity. At least it's the media's prerogative to sensationalize this stuff, what excuse do any of the folks on here have.
You can tell Kaleta wasn't trying to hurt Richards. He's not the most vile scum to ever walk the earth, contrary to popular belief. And while I understand reputations follow players, he's cleaned himself up a lot in the last few years. It was a dumb, dangerous, unfortunate play that led to an awkward fall into the boards. That's it. Suspension-worthy, absolutely... but why make it sound more vicious and intentional than it was. For all the reasons Kaleta gives you to hate him, don't pick this one that clearly wasn't meant to be more than a mild shove. C'mon...
