What is it with this day? It seems to be a day when large deals happen.

A year ago today, we say the Hall/Larsson trade, Weber/Subban trade, and the Stamkos signing.

Now we just witnessed the Lack trade, and could still see a few deals happening tonight with the Free Agency days away.

Hall, Larsson, Subban, Weber, Lack...

All seem about equal.

If today's deal was a large one, what qualifies as a small deal? Two GMs swapping pictures of their 7 year old sons playing midget hockey?

Leave op alone

Sure Lack isn't earth shattering, but the last couple years there has been some good trades happening. Can't wait for Saturday!

LOL...Ummm...I don't think you can even remotely compare a trade for a 4th string back up like Lack to the deals last year. But I get that you may be excited, being it's your last day at elementary school and all....

I think we should be looking into 7 year olds playing midget. They must be damn good. Furthermore we should probably be looking into GM's swapping pictures of their kids. That's just weird.

Make my day.
The last 3 weeks promised so much and delivered so little.

Expansion draft fireworks? dud.

prospect draft, not much happened.

pre-deadline, boring.

I can only hope things liven up july 1 but I'm not expecting much, dull crop.

Nepotism has been known to run rampant enough in the sport to make that a plausibe thing. "This is our Braydoon. I see him very much as a top minutes guy to be lined with the best two wingers you got. He's Draft eligible in 10 years."

Eddie Lack plus Murphy for Keegan Kanzig has certainly shifted the hockey world like Weber for Subban or Hall for Larsson. It may take years to figure out who won that one. Canes AHL team get a 7th D man and Flames get a career backup and 7th Dman. When Ryan Murphy is the best player in a trade it's not really earth shattering.
